The Museum is the proud caretaker of the largest public collection of Grandma Moses paintings in the world with many of her paintings always on view. But there is so much more. From the Military Gallery commemorating the Battle of Bennington to Mid-Century Modern with paintings by Paul Feeley, Jules Olitski and other mid-20th century modernists; Gilded Age Vermont featuring the 1924 MartinWasp Touring Car to Early Vermont Gallery representing life in Vermont from 1761 to the early 1800’s. Art, History, Innovation from the 18th century to present. Since 1948 Bennington Potters has been producing handcrafted dinnerware, bakeware and accessories that deliver dining and cooking pleasure for generations. Our homestyle store spans 5400 square feet in two historic buildings – the Grist Mill built on site in 1922 to serve the surrounding farms and the School House (a true one-roomer moved to the site in 1963). Explore our full line of pottery along with furniture, linens, glassware, wall art, candles, and much more! The factory is located on site, where Potters are busy jiggering, jollying, pressing, casting, dipping, slushing, chumming and firing. We offer free tours daily where you get a behind-the- scene look at the pottery being made – from our hands to yours. Come experience a Vermont tradition! Dates of Operation: Open Daily Year-Round.
