Special excursions from Burlington include Mother's Day Brunch, Father's Day Rail & Sail and our Independence Day Fireworks train. Scenic Fall Foliage excursions from Chester run through September and October. • Charters — Vermont Rail System passenger trains are available year-round for charters and special events. Learn the entire maple sugaring process on this very informative sugarhouse tour, from tapping trees, processing sap, to boiling and filtering. At the end of the tour, sample our award winning maple syrup and other value added products such as maple cream, maple candy, and maple-based seasonings. Product making demonstrations are available upon request when registering. We have a full gift shop for cash and carry purchases at the end of the tour/demonstrations.
